La Historia me absolvera.

Description

A picture of Fidel Castro giving a speech I found somewhere. For some reason I've been fascinated by Castro since I was 12 and had to make a paper about a historical figure which you thought was very very important for the history of the world. Why I'm so fascinated? Probably the guerilla image, the army fatigues, the rebel, the militant, the world record length in speeches, his ideals. To me personally he's not that different form Ernesto Guevara, plus he's one of the few leaders who hasn't been assissinated or put in place by the CIA in South-America. I am a socialist im alot of ways and I don't see Castro necessary as a dictator, maybe Cuba isn't a democracy but he's done a lot of good things for his fellow countrymen (name me another thirdworld country with such good healthcare and educational system..) which I think is being forgot most of the time - not to say he's a perfect person or some shit like that. Plus he's one of the few world leaders together with Hugo Chavez and some others who didn't fell for imperialism and neo-colonialism.

What fascinates me so in this picture that only the arm and hand are moving, but you can see at his stance and at his facial expression that everything in him is moving, he's angry, he got something to say and he's gonna let the whole world know it. I've editted the picture (higher contrast and cut some of the edges away), add some black space above it and a quote which means alot to me, it says "Condemn me, it doesn't matter. History will absolve me".

AS people can see I'm a big fan of contrast and black and white, so I'm kinda curious at your comments.

In my opinion Cuba IS a democracy, just not in the same way as other countries.
Hasta la victoria siempre.
